Composition
-
Secretary: Massimo
Giovannozzi, PS/AE
-
Core:
Chairman,
Secretary, representatives from each machine, an expert from each group,
which deals with all machines with beams, including the CTF.
-
Members:
Management and group leaders of the PS
Division, machine supervisors and machine physicists, linkmen from
Controls,
Power,
Beam
Diagnostics groups and SL
division.
-
Invited:
Members of the SL
division, physics
coordinators (Isolde and SPS/PS) and the Director
of Accelerators.
Mandate
-
Review the beam performance of the PS Complex providing a list of
requested, achieved and foreseen beam performance (beam losses minimisation
is also to be considered in terms of beam performance), related problems
and possible improvements.
-
Decide the essence of the MD plans of the individual machines establishing
a yearly MD schedule with main objectives.
-
Recommend priorities between the different studies, planning and
updating milestones (taking into account resources and available MD time).
-
Make recommendations to the divisional management on necessary upgrading
and improvements of the machines. The divisional management can also recommend
particular studies.
-
Co-ordinate the MD sessions of the individual machines, when and
where necessary.
-
Follow-up of the integration of new beams in the PS complex.
-
Promote applications of novel ideas, theoretical works, methods
and procedures providing higher performance and/or easing operation.
-
Bring up problems which might interest others or where others could
help.
-
The Chairman should make periodical reports to the PSMB.
-
The Chairman can make recommendations to the divisional management on publications
